A New Garage Freezer and a Meat N’ Bone Haul
By Jonny · Backyahd BBQ
The kitchen freezer has held briskets, pork butts, and pork belly for years. As the cooks get bigger, I need a little more room. So I finally made space in the garage for a chest freezer. It did not stay empty for long.

New Freezer and Meat! I finally got a new garage freezer. I’ve been using my kitchen freezer all these years. It’s been fine for 4 brisket, 2 pork butt, and pork belly events, but I’m expanding to l
Room for the next big cook
I can make the kitchen freezer work for an event with four briskets, two pork butts, and some pork belly, but it gets crowded fast. The new garage freezer gives the meat its own space. It also means I can chill a brisket before trimming it without clearing out the family freezer. When the fat is very cold, I find it easier to cut cleanly.
The one in the video is a Midea MRC07M5CWW. It holds 7 cubic feet and has two removable baskets. I can keep smaller packages up top and stack the larger cuts below.

Here is the exact model from the video. If you shop on Amazon, the MERC07C4BAWW card below is a similar 7 cubic foot model with one basket. Check the model number before ordering; it is different from my MRC07M5CWW.

Then Gabriel sent the good stuff
My friend Gabriel at Meat N’ Bone helped me start stocking it. I opened the box and kept pulling out cuts I wanted to cook right away. There were pork tomahawks, Heritage St. Louis ribs, and Ibérico St. Louis ribs. On the beef side: a Wagyu tomahawk, picanha, tri-tip, Denver steaks, osso buco, and a ribeye.

The Meat N’ Bone haul
These are the cuts I pulled from the box. The picanha package says BMS 8–9, and the two rib styles match what I named in the video. For the other cuts, check the grade, size, and style on the product page before ordering; those details can vary.

I loaded the packages into the freezer with the basket still in place. Having all of that meat ready for the next few cooks feels pretty great. But I was not waiting for the next event to start eating: the Wagyu tomahawk was my pick for lunch that day.
